Full Form of BSCC
The full form of BSCC in education is Bihar Student Credit Card. It is a government initiative established to provide financial assistance to students belonging to the poor and backward families of the state of Bihar, India. The aim of this program is to ensure that no student faces any kind of financial difficulty in pursuing higher education.
The BSCC scheme was launched by the state government in 2020. Under this scheme, students from financially backward families can get up to Rs 2 lakhs as credit limit on their cards. The cardholder can use this amount for educational purposes such as tuition fees, books, uniform expenses and other related expenses. The card also provides extra benefits such as discounts on various products and services offered by banks.
In order to avail the benefits under this scheme, the student must belong to a family with an annual income below Rs 2 lakhs per annum and must be studying in an educational institution recognized by the state government or Central Government. The student should also have passed the Bihar School Examination Board examination or an equivalent examination conducted by any other board/university in India. In addition, he/she should have a valid Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).
The application process for the card involves filling out an online form available on the official website of BSCC along with necessary documents such as identity proof, residence proof, bank account details and photograph. Once all documents are successfully submitted, an applicant will receive a confirmation message from BSCC regarding his/her eligibility for the credit card. After successful verification process, he/she will receive a physical copy of his/her credit card within 3-4 weeks after applying for it.
The primary purpose of BSCC is to provide financial assistance to students who are unable to fund their own education due to lack of resources or other reasons. Moreover, it helps reduce dependence on private lenders who often charge high interest rates over loans taken by students and their families which makes repayment difficult at times leading them into debt traps.
BSCC has been beneficial for thousands of students belonging to financially backward families across Bihar who are now able to pursue higher studies without worrying about finances thanks to this government initiative. With its increasing popularity among students, it has become one of the most important credit cards in Indian educational sector today and many more states are expected join hands with Bihar in making similar schemes available across India soon enough!
