Full Form of REET

REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. It is an entrance exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) to recruit teachers in the state-run schools of Rajasthan. This examination was first held in 2016 and is conducted every three years.

The objective of this exam is to select eligible candidates who can become a part of the teaching faculty in Government schools of Rajasthan and provide quality education to students. The REET exam is divided into two levels – Level I and Level II. Both levels have different criteria for eligibility depending upon the post applied for.

For Level I, candidates must possess a minimum qualification of Senior Secondary or Class XII with 50% marks from a recognized board and must have passed a two year Diploma in Elementary Education / Special Education / B.Ed / D.Ed (Special Education) from any recognized University/Institute/Board in India. For Level II, candidates are expected to have passed Graduation with 45% marks from any recognized university/institute/board along with B.Ed or any other equivalent degree from any recognized university/institute/board in India.

Candidates applying for both levels must also have knowledge of English and Hindi language as it forms an important part of the syllabus for REET examination. The syllabus includes topics such as Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies & Science at both levels. Candidates will be tested on their understanding, comprehension and application skills related to these topics through multiple choice questions (MCQs).

REET examination consists of two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 – each carrying 150 marks each which has to be completed within 3 hours time limit per paper. Candidates who qualify both papers separately are declared successful in the examination while those who fail either paper are disqualified from further selection process which involves verification documents like educational certificates etc., followed by personal interview round by the school management concerned before final recruitment takes place..
