The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. It was established in 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. The BCCI is responsible for the organisation and governance of all forms of cricket, including international and domestic competitions.

The BCCI organizes and oversees numerous tournaments at both the domestic and international levels, such as the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Trophy and Deodhar Trophy for domestic competition; While conducting international cricket tournaments like the Indian Premier League (IPL), Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) and the Asia Cup. In addition to that, it also selects teams to represent India at the international level and administers all other matters related to Indian cricket.

The BCCI is one of the richest sports organisations in the world with an annual revenue estimated at around US$2 billion.
