DRDO, or Defense Research and Development Organization, is an Indian governmental organization responsible for the research and development of defense technology. Established in 1958 with the aim of developing a self-reliant defense industry in India, DRDO’s mission is to ensure “the security and progress of our nation through leading-edge scientific and technological innovations”.
The organization is headquartered in New Delhi, with its research centers spread across the country.
