The full form of SSC in education is Staff Selection Commission. This commission was established in 1975 under the Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and its Attached and Subordinate Offices. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has been mandated to conduct examinations for recruitment to posts in the various Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, as well as sub-ordinate offices.
The SSC conducts competitive examinations every year for selection of staff to various posts like Lower Division Clerks (LDCs), Upper Division Clerks (UDCs), Multi Tasking Staff (MTSs), Stenographers, Data Entry Operators (DEOs), Constables, Sub Inspectors, Inspectors and other non-technical Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ non-gazetted posts.
